Why I’m a Democrat Even Though I Loathe Identity Politics
Desi Lydic Foxsplains EVERYTHING | The Daily Show — YouTube
Someone (who I’ll be considerate enough not to label) read some of my pieces and said:
It’s amazing that you are still a supporter of the Democratic party, since identity politics and wokeness are centerpieces of their existence. Once you get over the misrepresentation by the mainstream media that most conservatives are bad people, racists, or insurrectionists, you will see the light. Most all of my friends, many whom are conservatives, are good, giving people who are out for the betterment of all, and are worried that identity politics, suppression of opposition opinions, and cancel culture, all Democratic features, will ruin this country.
So, the bad news here for Conservatives is that I would absolutely never vote for a Republican under the current state of affairs.
I heavily disagree with issues such as:
-Guns (I think they should be reduced or made illegal like Japan)
-Health care (I think it is a right and there are models all over the Western world that show us how to do it)
-The environment (I think the government needs to be the policeman over industry and tell them what they should or shouldn’t do. I even think industry is looking for government to tell them where these lines are and under Republicans, that duty gets massively abandoned)
