In order to show that I can walk the walk, here are all the articles I’ve professionally published in the past half-year, with a little bit of insight that I hope is helpful:

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A SKI TRIP OUT WEST, SKI MAGAZINE

After only skiing Appalachian mountains for the past decade, I was overwhelmed and exhausted when I took a trip to ski in Colorado. I pitched a first-person story to Ski Magazine where I’m honored to have published before. One thing: I had to send the editor at least four reminder e-mails (persistence is more forgiving in this industry than other industries) before she caught sight of the e-mail and agreed. The story is service-oriented (it’s very directed at helping readers with something), and first-person (unusual for me):

I’ve also published four other articles from Ski Magazine in the past 15 months, and am very proud of the two on Sun Valley that I wrote (the best places to stay in Sun Valley was assigned. That’s not the kind of thing a freelancer would come up with. You have to be more creative than that to get a green light)
