I enjoy Wonkette because I love seeing the MAGA crowd get eloquently skewered, but they are often very guilty of dogmatism. This comes in the form of “the subject(s) of our article are definitely racist/sexist/misogynist/homophobic, and if you disagree, you are also racist/sexist/misogynist/homophobic.”

For instance, in their latest post on the censoring of Roald Dahl’s books, Wonkette wrote:
“Nossel suggested a better approach might have been to add “introductory context that prepares people for what they are about to read, and helps them understand the setting in which it was written.” Not that the Right would be happy with that; recall that they were outraged when HBO Max added a disclaimer mentioning that slavery is bad to its streams of Gone With the Wind”

To this I say:

Has this writer considered that most of the people with views opposing his aren’t as monstrous as he might think?

I’m more on the right culturally (and campaign for Democratic candidates 100% of the time) and I was perfectly pleased with a disclaimer. Most people would be.

Changing a book’s contents is a different story. It’s not like with all the education on critical race today, children are going to start beating up their Black neighbors because they read Roald Dahl.

Just like the left protested that violent lyrics in songs and video games in the 80s, there are perfectly…
