Sorry, I have to disagree, I think that society has changed in that so much of the outlawing is now being done on the left: People who practice intersectionality and identity politics.

Dr. Suess is the biggest example, but we also know that team names, campus names, street names, and statues are being deemed problematic, and of course works by Roman Polanski and Woody Allen are being denied distribution which ignores the fact that most film makers from the classic era has terrible crimes too. There are many feminists who also want to ban comedians with offensive material.

You can agree or disagree with whether the actions on the Left are morally better than the Right but at least admit that this is a phenomenon going on both sides and not something that your side carries on with some sort of protected purity. I believe you are on the right side of history, but you don't appear to be displaying an ethical consistency.
