Marilyn Manson, sure, punish him. But rooting for Eminem (a victim of sexual abuse as a child and someone with no one record of anything other than words) or Trent Renzor (at least investigate it) to have their careers wrecked strikes me as having the worst in cancel culture.

Remember in the 80s when Dee Snyder of Twisted Sister was a hero against congress for thinking that policing culture and words is going to make society magically better?

We've become a society that thrives on extrajudicial judgment of others. We see this as empowerment more than looking for actual solutions.

At the same time with someone like Don McLean or Armie Hammer when is a mistake in the past a mistake in the past?
