MAGA Hypocrisy with Regard to Trump’s Raid

GOP lawmakers call Garland’s remarks on Mar-a-Lago search insufficient (msn.com)

So first things first, any call to say “Garland’s remarks are insufficient” is a political trap that serves the Republicans without any risk. If they were actually committed to some bipartisan notion of justice, they would set a benchmark by which they can be satisfied. Agree beforehand that they will (at least) rhetorically be satisfied and stop complaining at a certain point of transparency, and then and only then, should the Democrats proceed under that condition.

By launching some vague “not enough” attack, the Republicans get to put the Democrats on a permanent defensive where the Democrats are unrewarded and look weak for ceding to Republican demands.

Now let’s look at some quotes in this article.

“Merrick Garland personally approved a search warrant to take down Joe Biden’s top political opponent. This is a politically-motivated witch hunt,” tweeted Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.

How is this logical? Just because Trump thinks he has some chance at running again, does not mean that any actions to make accountable a man, who has confessed and been found by everyone else in his circle through sworn depositions to have broken laws, a witch hunt.

How can such a comment not go unchecked? If there is talk that this country is heading for a Civil War, the mistrust that Blackburn is sowing into this country for a few inches of…
