If DEI worked for you as a woman, great!
There's probably an appropriate balance somewhere.
However, I've also heard a lot more microaggression policing, and complaints from women themselves that they're seen as diversity hires, whereas a meritocracy would give them much more credibility in the office. Especially in fields where women have an equal chance as men.
It's one thing if racial disparities might cause it so that if you're from inner city Detroit, it would be more unlikely for you to make it in the world of capitol hill, finance, or silicon valley, but to suggest a member of the LGBT community, for example, needs some hiring edge in an uber-liberal company town like Silicon Valley is intellectually dishonest, and can you blame people for thinking under their breath that the person had an unfair advantage?
You can hold all the mandatory seminars you want, but you can't teach people to respect that person's accomplishments if they don't believe in that system.
