What you're talking about is racism against Black people, don't suggest that we're committing a crime against all forms of divergent humanity.
I agree that criminalizing culture is bad, but how far do we go with that? Should we not try to teach them English or the SATs? But I do agree with you. Either way, I would have trouble believing these days that they would criminalize particularly African-American styles of hair or dress rather than a blanket ban on hats (what they did in my school growing up). But I don't know, maybe there are growing number of cases where it's actually happening where Black hairstyles and dress are banned in schools.
I think there's merit in creating a dress code that eliminates wealth gaps. IE if every student simply wore the same school uniforms, it would help take economic pressure on poorer families not to buy the latest, hottest clothes.
And yes, those are great points about rape culture.
