I viewed the article as pretty apolitical. If you stick with historical facts and evidence, like this article excellently does, it's hard to feel like it's being written for one side of the aisle or the others.

But, if your theory about conservatives held true it wouldn't account for female conservatives. It's almost disrespectful to them or anti-feminist to deny them agency for not wanting to be part of that patriarchy
