Actually, I'm using pretty solid logic.
Patriarchal norms aren't the laws of physics. It's called a school of thought, like humanism, or buddhism, or taoism, or epicureanism, or kantism, or in this case feminism: All ways of explaining the universe. I'd say: Your character is defined by how well you can accept somone else's point of view as different than your own. You can say you think he's wrong, but to say "he's wrong" isn't an accurate portrayal of what's going on his head and therefore not an accurate portrayal of the world around you.
